Knowing God and His Goodness

The knowledge of God is the key to godliness. John Gill says, “Where ignorance reigns no good thing dwells,” but Psalm 84 says, “No good thing does [God] withhold from those who walk uprightly.” What a contrast. Psalm 84 demands a desire for God that feeds a pursuit of God that leads to the presence of God which delights and satisfies us. This becomes a self-feeding loop: Once we’ve experienced and known the presence of the God of grace and glory, we will desire Him more which will lead us to pursue Him again which lead to His satisfying presence again.

O God, give us us more of yourself so that we will desire you more, pursue you more, and delight in you more and thus walk in more and more integrity every day of our lives. May your presence be better to us every day that three years anywhere else so that we become children to trust more and more in you.
